The Director

Bosschar started directing in 1999 when still under the guidance of Antunes Filho at the Center of Theater Research (CPT) in São Paulo, under the “Pret-a-Porter” program.
The  first play he wrote and directed, “The Year of the Rabbit”, won an award as the Best Contemporary Play of 2003 in Recife, Brazil.
Since then, Bosschar has directed a number of plays, performing in Brazil and throughout Europe. Most of the plays are directed and also written by himself. Amongst them are:
“The Nightmares of Martha Stewart”
“The Smiths”
“The bold singer”, by Ionesco
“Esmeraldina’s Magic Circle”
“The Angels”
“Cabaret at the Harbor”
“The gender issue”, co-directed with Sansplis in Burkina Faso, West Africa
"The Nausea"
The necessary fragments
The woman who wished to die

Bosschar has also directed staged readings of the following plays:
“Twigs” by George Furth
“The Plaza suite” by Neil Simon.
For the past seven years Bosschar has supervised all the plays put together by the second Year students at “The Commedia School”. As part of their studies, the students must produce four plays a year.

Bosschar attempts to create a new perception of the role of the director which is opposed to the image of a tyrant imposing his views on the environment around him, while still maintaining a strong sense of direction and leadership. Bosschar works in close collaboration with his team, valuing inputs, encouraging all to participate in the creative process.
